Kelcy McNamara is the owner of ROOTS trauma sensitive yoga LLC, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) in southern Maine, and has been teaching since 2010.
In 2016 she received her 300 hour certification to facilitate Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY-F) a program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE).
Kelcy has also received her certificate of completion in Traumatic Stress Studies through the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute in 2018. Kelcy is a certification mentor at The Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE) for the 300 hour program and is committed to continuing her learning and deepening her understanding of trauma and healing.
Her experience includes teaching public and private classes in a variety of settings including, but not limited to: at-risk youth, teens, recovery programs, and prison.
ROOTS believes in the healing properties of yoga. TCTSY is the only evidence based Trauma Sensitive Yoga practice used as an adjunctive to psychotherapy for treatment of complex trauma. TCTSY's theoretical orientation is grounded in Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory, and Neuroscience Study.
